Important Information

  • Return transport from Kampala to Jinja is included when you meet the minimum group size from Kampala (trips run daily; minimum 4 from Kampala, 2 from Jinja).
  • You’ll receive dorm accommodation for one night, filtered drinking water (we follow a zero-plastic policy), life jacket, helmet and paddle; photos are sent via Dropbox within 48 hours.
  • Not included: dinner at the camp if you choose to stay over, GoPro devices or mounts (helmets with GoPro fittings are provided but you must bring your own camera), and Entebbe pick-ups which incur an extra charge.
  • Not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with poor cardiovascular health; you should have at least a moderate level of fitness to fully enjoy the whitewater experience.

Meeting Point

Pick-up in Central Kampala is included for groups meeting the minimum requirement (we’ll confirm your exact Kampala pick-up location after booking). If you’re already in Jinja you can join directly there; meet at Nile River Camp/tea-house before departure. Entebbe pick-ups are available for an extra fee-confirm in advance so we can arrange collection.

Excludes

  • Dinner is not included - you can buy dinner if you stay overnight at Nile River Camp.
  • We supply GoPro-compatible helmets but do not provide GoPro cameras or GoPro mounts; you must bring your own.
  • GoPros are not available for hire on site.
  • Pick up and drop off in Central Kampala/Kampala is included; any pick up from Entebbe is charged extra.
  • Entebbe pick up carries an additional fee and is not part of the standard Kampala–Jinja transfer.

Summary: This was one of the best experiences I've ever done-- it was an absolute blast! The guides are so knowledgable, kind, and funny; I felt totally safe the entire time. If you like adventure, this really was the perfect day with a mix of good food, chilling on the Nile, and some crazy rapids. The bang for your buck is UNMATCHED!

Yes - since 2019 riverboarding is offered on every trip. You can choose grade 3 or grade 5 riverboarding with minimum ages of 14 years for grade 3 and 16 years for grade 5. The crew will always try to be flexible to your needs.
The trip is not recommended for pregnant travelers or those with poor cardiovascular health. Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness to safely enjoy 3–4 hours of whitewater and the 19km journey down the Nile.
