Summary: This was one of the most enjoyable and informative activities we did in New Zealand. We took a guided tour, which I highly recommend. Our guide, Xia, shared so much information about the area, and Māori culture and history. He demonstrated songs, prayers and even a haka, which was really something special. The first time I looked at my watch I was shocked that 90 minutes had passed! The carving was enjoyable, and to finish the whole experience with the mud and thermal baths was perfect.
