Summary: The show itself was fantastic But the transfer for 7 of us asked for an extra $40 per person at the last minute saying we were out of the catchment area, this was not obvious on viator, we negotiated this down to $90 for 7 the welcome cocktail was a shot there were no drinks during the show at all not even water and if you order the food package expect to eat at 22:30 at a different place they take you after the show. My advice would be eat before the show and don't buy the transfer or food package, get an Uber Instead. But the show itself was 5 star everything else was 1 star hence my score of 3

Summary: Excellent show about the history and culture in Ecuador. Small theater setting with a large cast of dancers and musicians. Amazing energy and colorful costumes.

Summary: I went with my family to this show while visiting Ecuador. First of all, the location where my show was held is intimate - it is located under the old Plaza de Toros around San Blas in Quito. The reception area is essentially a gallery of all sort of art and fashion from the Ecuadorian culture here. The show itself is amazing, very colorful. The music is lovely, the dancers are decked to the nines with Ecuadorian authentic fashion from long ago. Dances are from different areas and represent different aspects of life. I learned quite a bit about my own culture that I had not learned when i lived here, and go to do a little dancing to top it all!

Summary: We arrived a little too early. They didn't let us in, so we waited outside. We didn’t know what to expect. We were blown away by the music, dancing, extravagant costumes and costume changes while performing. I highly recommend this show to anyone visiting Quito.

Summary: We hunted for a "ballet folklorique" and found the Jacchigua website. Ignore it - it doesn't work well. Instead, pick Wednesday or Friday and go early to the Centro de Convenciones Eugenio Espejo, The show starts at 7:15, so 6:45 will get you good seats. Walk the slippery walkway to the open doorway, go in and pay your $40 and snag a front row seat. The theatre is (too) small and the seating is flat so it's hard to see from the back. THE SHOW IS SPECTACULAR - the sounds, the colours, the choreography, the energy of the dancers... it is not to be missed! The founder of the dance troupe talked a very long time in Spanish and while we are sure whatever was said was worthwhile, we didn't get a single word as we don't speak Spanish.WE get it- it is important to maintain the indigenous heritage - but the talk was too long. English translation would be welcome as most of the audience spoke English. The performance itself was varied, moved well, the dancers were well-trained, the accompanying live music was super. My only problem with it was the stage - the performance was too big for it: there are some HUGE costumes and they kept touching the ceiling. Withe the large number of dancers on the stage, they had to work the edges, and came a little too close for comfort. This is such a fabulous dance company, that they deserve a better theatre and way more publicity.... and probably a website upgrade for better marketing. The $40 is a cheap price for this world class performance.

Summary: This dance group deserves a much bigger and better stage! I think this should be a "must see" in Quito. Kind of like seeing a "tango show" in Argentina. Their costumes and performances were absolutely amazing. The live music was a great compliment. What a great way to show cast the folk dances and traditions of the indigenous Ecuadorian people and their culture. Having travelled all around the world, I personally really enjoy seeing folk dances and traditions of other cultures. Don't expect a big fancy hall or theatre. But the venue is nice and I was comfortable the whole 2 hours. You can tell the dancers really love and enjoy what they do and it shows in their performance. The only thing I wish they had some sort of translation into English, as my Spanish is very limited. There was a documentary shown in the beginning, but it was only in Spanish (no subtitles). And the founder of the group also spoke for quite a while, but only in Spanish. So at one point, I was confused on whether we were on a break or not. And I had no idea what was said either. So I feel like I missed a part of the experience. Also, some refreshments and snacks would be nice to have to purchase. If there were any, I didn't see them. Otherwise, I highly recommend to go see this!

Summary: Fabulous deep dive into dance and celebration traditions of the indigenous Ecuadorian people. This is apparently the creation of one cultural anthropologist who had explored his own history and traditions to preserve and share these important traditions. He introduced each event, explained his quest, and was super passionate about this project. What a thrill! This was a truly amazing spectacle ranging from the clownish acrobat creatures, to “deer” breeding and then being hunted, maypole ribbon dance, dances with huge headdresses, men wearing women’s garments to then present to their wives as gifts, spinning flower-garbed dancers, some deeply emotional pieces, and a fantastic Andean musical group. This event must be experienced!

Summary: This was a great night out for me. The dancers were very entertaining and it was well-worth the money I paid to see the show. I learned alot about the history of Ecuador and other South American countries.
