Positive: We had such a great stay at Casa Malee. The location is incredible, set above Calheta with a wide-open view of the ocean. The sunrises and sunsets from there are something else, and it’s the kind of view you don’t get tired of. Bee and Recardo made the whole experience even better. They’re genuinely warm, friendly people who made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They really looked after us and were always happy to help with anything we needed, but also just nice to chat with whenever we ran into them. You can tell they care about their guests. They even surprised us with some lovely welcome gifts: fresh eggs from their own chickens and traditional Madeiran sweets, which was a thoughtful touch. The apartment itself was perfect for what we needed. It’s spacious, very comfortable, and clearly very well maintained. Everything was clean and in great condition when we arrived. It also has everything you might need during your stay. The kitchen is especially well equipped, if you’re planning to cook for yourself. And if the nights get a bit chilly, there’s both AC and a heater. All in all, it’s a place we’d happily come back to and recommend without hesitation.
