Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The chalet was huge - as big as a 3 bedroom house. It was of log cabin construction which meant it was warm and cozy in the winter. Two large bedrooms and half bath upstairs and a large bedroom with large living/dining room, full bath and a small kitchen and mudroom entry. It is a 3 minute walk to the entrance of the ski parking lot. Once you park your car in the chalet grounds, you do not need to drive anymore. Everything is easy walking distance. They have their own water well with fantastic tasting water from the tap;. This water is used for the hot tub (no chlorine) and sauna. Better yet was the firewood fired hot tub on the deck overlooking the ski slope and the firewood fired steam sauna with attached cozy fireplace room with view of the mountain. Viktor was the host and did everything right. He burned lots of wood during our stay. During our three night stay, we did the hot tub twice and the sauna once. He offered up the grill for shashlik, but we didn't have enough time. Viktor also closes up the gates at night for added security.

Negative: There are two large chalets on the premises, but just one hot tub, one grill, and one sauna. If your neighbors want to use the same things this can lead to conflict which we had the last night we were there. Also, the heating system is floor heat which worked great during the day but at night it got quite cold because it was fueled by firewood, which apparently runs out overnight?

Summary: Fabulous place to enjoy mountain vacation.
