The nine-mile stretch between Yaverland and Shanklin, with Sandown at its heart, showcases fascinating geology, from the red sandstone to the white chalk of Culver Cliff. On a lucky day, you might even discover fossil remains!
For those seeking adventure, the bay is a hub for water sports, including paddleboarding, surfing, windsurfing, kite surfing, and sailing catamarans or dinghies—weather permitting.
A short walk towards Yaverland brings you to the Wild Heart Animal Sanctuary, renowned for its big cats and its connection with naturalist and TV presenter Chris Packham.
