Summary: I wanted a unique experience during my family’s trip to New Hampshire, and Pete certainly provided that. On the day we signed up for it was just my son and I, so we were treated to an extended hands-on presentation on the history of flintlocks using the items in his collection. After Pete’s informed introduction we went outside with the flintlocks and drilled with the weapons. We learned how to prime and load the weapons just as generations of soldiers had, culminating every time with a shot at the target. We finished with two timed tests to see how quickly we could do it. Not only was it fun, but it was a great learning experience. Pete really knows his stuff!

Summary: My partner and I drove up on a random weekend in April from Southcoast Massachusetts to meet a stranger in the woods of New Hampshire. And we couldn't have had a better experience! Pete and his muskets are rare treasures. We heard some incredible history relevant to the origins of the muskets, placing them into American history, and enjoyed a tremendous amount of fun learning how to handle, load and fire the muskets. Pete, the host, is so knowleagable, easy-going, full of stories and intriguing anecdotes, and you can tell he's thoroughly adept with giving this experience to the public. No detail was left out. One of us was a little shy around guns, and Pete made the entire visit comfortable, accessible and safety oriented in such a way that all anxieties were gone and the whole experience was a total delight. We were first time vistors to NH, and found the location easy to find and not hard to get to even in the muddy time of year we went. Recommend bringing water and appropriate clothing to be outdoors comfortably for a few hours in the time of year you go. Based on our visit as the only two on that particular day, I would recommend this as a great activity for a small group of friends, couples, and families with older teenagers. 15/10 recommend this one-of-a-kind experience!!
