The house is located in a quiet residential area and is ideal as a starting point for walks to the castle, the market square, through the village or the Thuringian Forest. Eisfeld is a small town in the Franconian south of Thuringia and is conveniently located between Suhl and Coburg, as well as between Erfurt and Bayreuth. So you can enjoy the tranquility and natural beauty of the Thuringian Forest on site, but also wander into the distance to see the cathedral and the famous Krämerbrücke in Erfurt or to follow sounds and traces of Wagner in Bayreuth Activities nearby: . Eisfeld is located directly in itself the "Green Belt", the former inner German border. In a former border tower in the south of Eisfeld you will find an exhibition about the history of this border between GDR and FRG. And Eisfeld offers even more: a medieval castle with a park and view, a museum and a climbable tower; the old school with rectory, built about 1575, and the Holy Trinity Church. Hikers love the Rennsteig: From the middle reaches of the Werra to the upper reaches of the Saale, this world-famous high trail stretches over the ridges of the Thuringian Forest and the adjacent slate mountains.
