Summary: On a very wet, windy Friday with hail as well, I joined a walking tour of Jewish Berlin with two others and our Guide Nir. It was a fascinating tour and Nir being so knowledgeable, personable and inclusive made the tour really enjoyable despite the dreadful weather. In fact the three of us rearranged our Saturday so we could be with Nir again on a walking tour of the Third Reich. This was a large group and we saw amongst other things, the Holocaust memorial, Hitler’s bunker, some of the old Berlin Wall and Checkpoint Charlie. Despite the size of the group Nir managed to involve everyone in the conversations, to keep everyone interested and to keep us all together. Congratulations to Sandemans for having such a great tour guide and for providing such interesting tours.
